Sarah & I travelled up to Raleigh for SPARKcon this year and participated in the street painting festival for the first time since 2012. In honor of Sarah’s birthday, we made a “Birthday Totoro” drawing on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. I captured some photos and video during the process and decided to make this fun little video that also features some other parts of the festival. Hope you enjoy!
Empty Bowl Project
We had so much fun documenting the Codington Elementary School Empty Bowl Project!
The Empty Bowl Project is a grassroots movement that has helps to end hunger. Since 1990, this artistic project has been working hard towards that goal and this is the second year in a row that the Codington Elementary School Service Club has contributed by hosting it’s own event to raise money for Nourish NC.
Led by our very own Sarah Pearce, the Service Club created their bowls and held the event on September 17, raising over $750 and receiving an amazing amount of food donations to help battle hunger locally.
Check out TWC News for their news story on the event:

Video: One Week In The Pacific Northwest
What amazing part of our country!
We have wanted to travel like this for a long time. I planned this week long trip with Sarah as an anniversary celebration to see some of these breathtaking sites. Over the course of our week, we stayed in Hood River, Portland, Seattle, and Rialto Beach. We adventured around the Columbia River Gorge the first 2 days and then around Portland. The rest of our trip had us visiting awesome friends in Seattle and camping on Rialto Beach.
In addition to the photos captured on the trip, I also snagged lots of video during our trip and made this:
